Job summary

CHEC is seeking an Endoscopy Practitioner to join the team in the UK. The role involves supporting the Endoscopist, preparing instruments, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.

You will help with admissions, observations, and post-procedure recovery, working within infection control protocols and CHEC SOPs. We look for registered professionals with an emphasis on high-quality patient care, teamwork, and flexibility to support service improvement.

Qualifications

• Registered with NMC or HCPC and current registration status.
• Attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
• Desire to develop and expand clinical skills through ongoing training.
• Ideally previous experience in an endoscopy unit, including procedure room and recovery area responsibilities.
• Passion for delivering excellent patient care and contributing to a positive working environment.
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and responsive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
• Proactive and flexible approach to teamwork and service improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clinical areas and equipment in line with daily activities and infection control protocols.
• Participate in patient admissions, take baseline observations, and request sedation when competent.
• Assist the Endoscopist/Gastroenterologist in the procedure room by preparing instruments and supporting scope handling.
• Contribute to endoscopy list flow according to CHEC SOPs and policies.
• Participate in CQC and JAG accreditation and continuing competency training requirements via the JETs framework.
• Provide direct assistance during procedures, anticipating clinician needs and supporting patient monitoring.
• Monitor patients in recovery, ensuring safe post-procedure care and discharge instructions.
