Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 3 Endoscopy Support Worker to join the Endoscopy Unit. You will be involved in decontamination, preparing equipment, and supporting nurses and endoscopists during procedures and in recovery.

This is a busy unit with a focus on patient safety and efficient daily lists. The role requires prior NHS experience and a minimum of two years as a clinical support worker, with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and awareness of endoscopy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years as a clinical support worker.
• Awareness of Endoscopy.
• Previous NHS experience.

Responsabilités

• Assist with the preparation and discharge of patients undergoing endoscopic procedures under supervision.
• Prepare the endoscopy room and recovery area.
• Assist Endoscopy staff in diagnostic procedures once trained.
• Assist the Registered Nurse/Endoscopist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures once trained.
• Position patients during endoscopic procedures.
• Support airway management during endoscopy when trained.
• Monitor and record patient observations during procedures and alert senior staff when needed.
• Prepare endoscopic equipment prior to and during procedures.
