Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Pre-assessment Lead Nurse (Internal Only) to join the Endoscopy team. The post focuses on pre-procedure preparation, patient safety, and staff development within a dynamic unit.

You will lead diagnostic pre-assessment, support GI bleeding protocols, ERCP and respiratory list coordination, and contribute to training and continuous service improvement. Closing date 12 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with active registration.
• ENB998 teaching/assessing or equivalent.
• Foundation management certificate or equivalent.
• ILS certificate or equivalent.
• ENB 906 (Endoscopy and related procedures) or equivalent.
• Postgraduate development to diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• We are a dynamic team and training and development is high on our agenda on the unit.
• Diagnostic procedures include GI Bleeding emergencies, ERCP and respiratory lists twice weekly.
• The endoscopy unit provides endoscopy procedures on elective outpatient and emergency inpatient basis for NCIC patients.
• The pre-assessment service ensures patients are well enough to undergo procedures and are educated.
