Job summary

Circle Health Group in Huddersfield is seeking an Endoscopy Lead Practitioner to join the Theatre team. This full-time role runs 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern and a salary up to £45,000, dependent on experience, training and qualification.

You will lead, coordinate and supervise endoscopy care, implement best practice standards, and work with Consultants to maintain high service levels. Registration with NMC/HCPC and endoscopy decontamination qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Senior Registered Practitioner or equivalent in an endoscopy service.
• Experience and training in pain management and monitoring recovery.
• Experience in governance, audit and clinical risk assessment.
• Ability to work with Consultants to challenge practices while maintaining standards.
• Registration with NMC or HCPC and endoscopy decontamination competence.

Responsibilities

• Support, coordinate and assist in management of care within the Endoscopy Unit.
• Provide quality peri-procedure care under clinical supervision and leadership.
• Implement HTM 01-06, Royal College guidelines and JAG standards in service delivery.
• Develop business initiatives and policies to improve the service.
• Adhere to decontamination programmes for flexible endoscopes.
• Complete risk assessments and COSHH actions; address risks.
• Comply with mandatory training.

Endoscopy Lead Practitioner

37.5 Hours & Permanent

Salary: Up to £45,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for an Endoscopy Lead Practitioner to join their team of staff in the Theatre department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties Of This Role Include

• You support, coordinate and actively assist in the management and organisation of care provision within the Endoscopy Unit.
• You provide quality planned care for patients during their peri-procedure phase of care by delivering quality patient care through appropriate clinical supervision and managerial leadership.
• You implement best practice standards (HTM 01 – 06, Royal College guidelines, GRS, JAG, etc.) in endoscopy service delivery.
• You develop and support business initiatives, polices and strategies which improve the service delivered to all our customers.
• You are responsible for adhering to the departmental decontamination programme for flexible endoscopes.
• You participate in the completing all departmental risk assessments, COSHH assessments and implementing action plans to address risk.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

• Previous experience as a Senior Registered Practitioner or equivalent in an endoscopy service.
• Experience and training in pain management, care of the deteriorating patient, care of patient under conscious sedation requiring monitored recovery.
• Experience of clinical governance and audit.
• Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills across a range and varied patient case mix and competence across a range of skills, including clinical and decontamination.
• Evidence of working in partnership with Consultants to explore and challenge existing practices while maintaining and enhancing services and standards.
• Registration as a Practitioner with NMC or HCPC.
• Basic and advanced Competence / qualification in Endoscopy Care and Decontamination.
• Operators and Managers Course in Endoscopy Decontamination.
• Teaching / Assessing / mentorship qualifications.
• Knowledge of appropriate standards and external bodies (Care Quality Commission, GRS, JAG, HTM 01 -06).
• ILS.
