Job summary

Huddersfield Private Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, invites applications for an Endoscopy Lead Practitioner. The role is 37.5 hours per week, permanent, with a salary up to £45,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

The post requires flexible shift coverage within the Theatre department and leadership in endoscopy care. The successful candidate will manage the Endoscopy Unit, oversee peri-procedure care, and drive service improvements.

Endoscopy Lead Practitioner
Huddersfield Private Hospital
37.5 Hours & Permanent
Salary: Up to £45,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for an Endoscopy Lead Practitioner to join their team of staff in theTheatre department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• You support, coordinate and actively assist in the management and organisation of care provision within the Endoscopy Unit.
• You provide quality planned care for patients during their peri-procedure phase of care by delivering quality patient care through appropriate clinical supervision and managerial leadership.
• You develop and support business initiatives, polices and strategies which improve the service delivered to all our customers.
• You are responsible for adhering to the departmental decontamination programme for flexible endoscopes.
• You participate in the completing all departmental risk assessments, COSHH assessments and implementing action plans to address risk.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Previous experience as a Senior Registered Practitioner or equivalent in an endoscopy service.
• Experience and training in pain management, care of the deteriorating patient, care of patient under conscious sedation requiring monitored recovery.
• Experience of clinical governance and audit.
• Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills across a range and varied patient case mix and competence across a range of skills, including clinical and decontamination.
• Evidence of working in partnership with Consultants to explore and challenge existing practices while maintaining and enhancing services and standards.
• Registration as a Practitioner with NMC or HCPC.
• Basic and advanced Competence / qualification in Endoscopy Care and Decontamination.
• Operators and Managers Course in Endoscopy Decontamination.
• Teaching / Assessing / mentorship qualifications.
• Knowledge of appropriate standards and external bodies (Care Quality Commission, GRS, JAG, HTM 01 -06).
• ILS.
