18 Week Support is seeking motivated Endoscopy Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to support our Endoscopy services across Hampshire. You will play a key role in supporting patients before, during and after diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, while assisting the wider clinical team to ensure safe and effective service delivery.

The role involves ensuring patient comfort and dignity, assisting during procedures (gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, ERCP), preparing areas and equipment,

Qualifications

  • 6 months Endoscopy HCA experience in the last 12 months.
  • Previous NHS experience is essential.
  • Strong understanding of endoscopy environments and patient pathways.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Support patients throughout their endoscopy journey, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Assist Nurses and Endoscopists during endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, and ERCP.
  • Prepare clinical areas, equipment, and stock in line with infection prevention and control standards.
  • Undertake patient observations and provide general patient care within the unit.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and maintain high standards of patient safety.
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver an efficient and patient-focused service.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality patient care throughout the endoscopy pathway. As an Endoscopy HCA, you will play a key role in supporting patients before, during, and after diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, while assisting the wider clinical team to ensure safe and effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support patients throughout their endoscopy journey, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times
  • Assist Nurses and Endoscopists during endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, and ERCP
  • Prepare clinical areas, equipment, and stock in line with infection prevention and control standards

Minimum Requirements

  • Local candidates within 50 miles of Hampshire preferred
  • Strong understanding of endoscopy environments and patient pathways
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering safe, effective patient care
