Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Decontamination Technician to clean, disinfect and prepare endoscopes and related equipment after appropriate training and competency assessment.

You will maintain the decontamination area, restock consumables, report faults, keep records and work with colleagues across both hospital sites to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect and prepare endoscopes and related equipment after training and competency assessment.
• Maintain a clean, tidy decontamination area and ensure equipment is working and supplies are stocked.
• Follow national and Trust procedures to uphold safety, quality and infection prevention standards.
• Report equipment faults, stock shortages and issues affecting service delivery.
• Keep accurate records and use tracking systems to trace equipment.
• Collaborate with Endoscopy Unit colleagues to support service improvements and a smooth operation across both hospital sites.
