Job summary

CDDFT is seeking a decontamination technician to join a newly established team delivering a professional service in a non-clinical NHS setting. You will ensure endoscopes are cleaned and packaged to high standards, and you will work within decontamination processes and guidelines.

The role involves pre-cleaning, leakage testing, automated washer-disinfectors, and routine documentation to support reprocessing. A clear development pathway is provided within the NHS framework.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level, including Maths & English.
• Jets/JAG training

Responsibilities

• Prioritise and disinfect endoscopes to ensure the users' requirements are met in line with the agreed service agreements and the daily requirements schedule.
• Carry out daily tests and house-keeping duties on the decontamination equipment and within the department. Keep all work areas tidy and free from hazards.

Job description

You will be working as part of a newly established team in adecontamination environment, delivering a professional service to the NHStrust.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all Endoscopes arecleaned and packaged to the correct high standards ready for patient use.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties will include:

Perform Leakage tests on all scopes

Pre-Clean all scopes as per the manufacturers guidelines.

Decontaminate flexible scopes using the automated washerdisinfectors.

Complete all necessary scanning andadministration for endoscopes to be reprocessed
