NHS Bristol Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic Decontamination Assistant to join the Endoscopy team at the Queens Day Unit, Bristol Royal Infirmary. The post holder will decontaminate flexible endoscopes and assist supervisors to deliver a high-quality service with robust traceability, procedures, and record-keeping.

Key duties include supporting the Decontamination Lead, testing equipment daily, recording results, and collaborating with the estate decontamination engineering team.

Competenze

• Literacy and numeracy skills required.
• GCSEs A-C or equivalent in core subjects.
• Public sector communication and teamwork encouraged.

Mansioni

• Assist decontamination lead daily and undertake timely tasks in the decontamination area.
• Participate in decontamination of contaminated endoscopes/equipment.
• Perform daily tests of washer/disinfectors as per procedures.
• Inspect cleanliness and durability of equipment/instrumentation.
• Complete documentation accurately and on time.
• Record and log issues on paper or computer systems.
• Resolve problems in the decontamination area and communicate with end users.
• Collaborate with estate decontamination engineering team.
• Maintain relevant competencies and keep mandatory training up to date.
• Respond to water test results and parameters per guidance.
