Job summary

Big Red Recruitment in the United Kingdom is seeking a Test Lead to own end-to-end testing for a major regulated national programme. The role spans several agile squads, combining thorough end-to-end journeys with existing waterfall-style test documentation and sign-off, in a fixed-term engagement to the end of 2027, with no direct reports.

You will define the test strategy, create end-to-end test cases, produce the required test documentation, and obtain customer sign-off while being hands-on

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead testing across multiple agile squads delivering a single platform.
• Experience bridging traditional waterfall documentation with agile sprint testing and sign-offs.
• Defined end-to-end test cases or test plans against user journeys.
• Client-facing experience handling testing sign-off and defect discussions.
• Hands-on testing while leading the testing effort.
• Experience setting up or improving a test function or its processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the test strategy and plans for the platform across several squads.
• Collaborate with product and platform managers to define end-to-end user journeys and write test cases.
• Produce required test documentation and obtain sign-off from the customer.
• Provide hands-on testing input where it adds value.
• Act as the client-facing voice on testing, reporting findings and open items.
• Help establish scalable test processes that can be reused across teams.
