End-to-End Proposals & Production Engineer

Job summary

Primetals Technologies UK Ltd is seeking a Proposals & Production Engineer in Scunthorpe to manage responses to customer enquiries, create and cost proposals, and liaise from enquiry through to delivery. You will work with the Technical Buyer/Estimator and Operations Manager, assisting with manufacturing support and supplier follow-up.

The role requires experience in producing proposals from drawings and RFQ documents, strong communication, and the ability to travel occasionally to client sites.

Qualifications

• Strong spoken and written communication skills.
• Experience in fabrication workshop environment is desirable.
• Commercial knowledge and experience creating proposals from drawings, BOMs, RFQ documents.
• Able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to travel occasionally to customer and other sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quotations/proposals using SAP and MS Office; cost sheets and estimates.
• Follow required approval processes for quotations/proposals.
• Monitor progress of workshop jobs from sale to delivery.
• Create project plans and liaise with customers about progress and issues.
• Enter new enquiries into CRM and update the enquiry register.
• Enter customer orders into the system and manage electronic job packs.
• Provide workshop manufacturing and technical support on day-to-day issues.
• Coordinate with suppliers on parts/services and pricing; raise purchase orders.
• Support product development to standardise products and enable high-volume manufacture.
• Report to Operations Manager/General Manager on progress and proposed resolutions.
