Job summary

Adria Solutions Ltd in Scunthorpe is seeking a Production Engineer Electronics to join a hands‑on role on the production floor. You will resolve build and test issues, improve manufacturing processes and help bring new electronic products into reliable production.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will troubleshoot faults, create documentation, design fixtures, and lead NPI activities while collaborating with quality and purchasing to drive root-cause actions and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience in electronics.
• Experience supporting electronic/electromechanical products in a production environment.
• Strong build and test fault-finding skills.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and BOMs.
• Experience with soldering, rework and wiring harness assembly.
• Confidence using oscilloscopes, multimeters and bench power supplies.
• Experience producing technical documentation with version control.
• Structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide first‑line engineering support for electronic and electromechanical assembly and testing.
• Diagnose faults at the bench, resolving production issues and escalating problems needing design changes.
• Create and maintain assembly instructions, test procedures and production documentation.
• Design, build and maintain test jigs, wiring harnesses and test equipment.
• Update bills of materials and support engineering change control.
• Lead the production side of new product introduction, ensuring smooth handover to manufacturing.
• Work with quality and purchasing to investigate component issues and implement corrective actions.
• Improve build consistency, test coverage and production efficiency.

Scunthorpe Onsite Full-time, Permanent 37.5 hours per week

Adria Solutions is recruiting a Production Engineer Electronics for an established technology manufacturer whose products support customers in critical operational environments.

This hands‑on role sits at the heart of engineering and manufacturing. Based on the production floor, you ll resolve build and test issues, improve manufacturing processes and help take new electronic and electromechanical products into reliable, repeatable production.

The role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing first‑line engineering support for electronic and electromechanical assembly and testing.
• Diagnosing faults at the bench, resolving production issues and escalating problems that require design changes.
• Creating and maintaining assembly instructions, test procedures and other production documentation.
• Designing, building and maintaining test jigs, wiring harnesses and test equipment.
• Updating bills of materials and supporting engineering change control.
• Leading the production side of new product introduction, ensuring products move smoothly from design handover into manufacture.
• Working with quality and purchasing teams to investigate component and assembly issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Improving build consistency, test coverage and production efficiency.

What we re looking for

• An engineering qualification in electronics, electrical, mechatronics or manufacturing, a completed engineering apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience supporting electronic or electromechanical products within a production or manufacturing environment.
• Strong build and test fault‑finding skills.
• The ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings and bills of materials.
• Practical experience with soldering, rework and wiring harness assembly.
• Confidence using oscilloscopes, multimeters and bench power supplies.
• Experience producing clear technical documentation and maintaining it under version control.
• A structured approach to problem‑solving and root cause analysis.

Useful additional experience

Experience with new product introduction, test fixture design, engineering change control, ERP/MRP systems or lean manufacturing would be beneficial. Familiarity with IPC workmanship standards, ESD controls, basic CAD and interfaces such as RS232, RS485, USB or Ethernet would also be useful.
