Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to deliver accurate end-to-end payroll services across the organisation. You will administer payroll and pension records, ensure HMRC compliance and maintain data protection standards.

You will handle statutory payments, prepare payroll reports, and support audits while delivering a high level of service to employees and managers. Experience with iTrent is highly desirable and a good working knowledge of Excel is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering end-to-end payroll
• Knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines with high accuracy

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll accurately and within deadlines
• Maintain payroll and pension records and ensure compliance
• Handle statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP) and related entitlements
• Administer expenses and employee changes; reconcile payroll records
• Extract, analyse and report payroll data using systems
• Support month-end and year-end payroll activities and audits
• Ensure GDPR compliance and data protection in payroll processes
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation
