Job summary

Confidential in Plymouth, Devon is seeking a Payroll Officer to join on a full-time, permanent basis. The role covers end-to-end payroll processing, pensions, auto-enrolment and payroll reporting with a steadfast commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

You will own the payroll cycle, respond to queries, produce journals and reconciliations, and strive for continual process improvements within a forward-thinking organisation. Sage 50 and Excel experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Take full ownership of end-to-end payroll processes.
• Provide accurate payroll, pensions and auto-enrolment duties.
• Maintain confidentiality and high accuracy in records.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the end-to-end payroll process across the organisation.
• Ensure all statutory submissions, payroll reporting, and compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time.
• Administer workplace pensions, auto-enrolment, and associated payroll deductions.
• Prepare payroll journals, reconciliations, and supporting financial information.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records while responding to payroll queries in a timely manner.
• Identify and implement improvements to payroll processes, systems, and controls.
