Job summary

Glenholme Specialist Healthcare is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to take full ownership of payroll for around 800 staff across two monthly runs, salaried and hourly.

Based at our Slough head office, you will be the payroll expert, coordinating with HR, service managers and employees to ensure accurate, on-time pay. There is scope to improve processes and strengthen controls as the business grows.

Qualifications

• At least three years' experience running end to end payroll.
• Experience using Sage 50 Payroll.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation incl RTI, pensions and auto enrolment.
• Understanding of HR/payroll lifecycle across the employee journey.
• Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach.
• Confident communicating with employees and managers at all levels.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure.
• Discretion and professionalism with sensitive information.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (paid).
• Right to work in the UK; no sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Process two monthly payrolls end to end, including data collection and BACS payments.
• Coordinate payroll data from Workforce to payroll; resolve queries with managers before cut-off.
• Handle starters, leavers, promotions, and salary changes.
• Administer statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP) and pensions/auto-enrolment.
• Submit RTI returns to HMRC and resolve HMRC queries.
• Carry out year-end tasks (P60s, P11Ds, Class 1A).
• Manage PAYE, National Insurance, student loans and attachments of earnings.
• Be the first payroll contact for employees and managers.
• Maintain payroll records and generate HR/Finance reports.
• Identify improvements to payroll processes and controls.
