END POINT ASSESSOR (EPA) - WATER PROCESSTECHNICIAN (WASTE WATER)

PART TIME / FLEXIBLE ROLE - ASSOCIATE ROLE

INTRO

V Selective are recruiting on behalf of an Ofqual recognised Apprenticeship End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO).
As an organisation they are committed to quality, and deliver a rigorous apprenticeship end point assessment service.
Their service helps to ensure that apprentices, working within a range of industries, are able to do the job they are trained for.
Key industries they support include Gas, Power, Water, and Nuclear.

STANDARD

They currently require End Point Assessors for the Water Process Technician standard, to join their bank of Independent End Point Assessors.

Water Process Technicians are responsible for 'Carrying out reactive and routine maintenance on water process equipment, working on water supply and treatment, water networks and leakage, sewerage and wastewater'

We are specifically seeking EPAs for the Waste Water pathway. Waste Water Treatment Technicians:

  • Use waste water treatment theories and principles to ensure processes are maintained at optimum performance
  • Operate & maintain process control equipment and instrumentation
  • Maintain Sewerage systems, including associated control systems
  • Maintain Sewer Pumping Stations and associated equipment
  • Control the operations on your sites to ensure Environmental Quality Standards for effluent discharge and air quality are met
  • Control Operations on your treatment works including work in confined spaces
  • Monitor and maintain waste water treatment processes including screening, grit removal, settlement, biological treatment and sludge treatment
  • Identify the root cause of faults and ensure they are communicated and resolved
  • Use treatment works design specifications to control treatment works and monitor the performance of your works
  • Ensure safety equipment is maintained and available for use
  • Carry out process stream and full treatment works shutdown as required by routine planned maintenance and emergencies
  • Implement emergency procedures on treatment works
  • Organise and control maintenance operations on treatment works equipment

THE ROLE

The role is offered on an associate basis via a zero hours contract. The hours available vary dependent on demand, and registered EPAs always have a choice to accept assignments based on their availability. This role may be undertaken complementary to an existing substantive position with the permission of your current employer or within a wider portfolio of activities.

Upon taking assignments from the Service Delivery team, you will deliver end-point assessment for the water treatment technician apprenticeship standard and assessment method you are approved for.

You will undertake (remotely or directly) end point assessment activities (which may include practical observations and technical interviews), awarding a preliminary grade and ensuring that all assessment decisions are fair, objective, free of bias and based on all relevant evidence presented.

You will accurately record the outcomes of all end point assessment activity using assessment material submitting these records within required timescales.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Must be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of competence within Waste Water Network with at least 3 years of significant experience of the occupation
  • Hold a NRSWA Qualification (operator/supervisor)
  • Experience of Jetting and CCTV
  • It would be desirable to hold an assessor qualification
