The Government requires all apprenticeships to include an end-point assessment (EPA), which is a holistic evaluation of the apprentice’s Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs). This ensures apprentices meet employer standards and are fully competent. Pearson provides independent assessors (IEAs) who are unbiased and only assess apprentices they have no conflict of interest with, ensuring fairness and consistency across assessments.
Assessments are conducted onsite at mutually agreed dates, with outcomes recorded and justified. IEAs are trained, qualified, and approved assessors who follow Pearson’s assessment plans and materials. Key responsibilities and candidate specifications are detailed below.
