Job summary

Action for Children in Glasgow is seeking a Housing Support Practitioner to empower young people toward independent living. You will build trusting relationships, support tenancy readiness, and coordinate practical help. Based at G34 9HJ with flexible hours and on-call duties as part of the team.

Role requires strong engagement, safeguarding knowledge, and experience in social care with homeless youth. You will assess needs, develop action plans, and maintain records showing impact.

Qualifications

• Engagement skills and ability to build trust with young people.
• Experience in social care settings supporting homeless or at-risk youth.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Champion the child's centre-focused approach and embed Participation Standards.
• Build strong professional relationships and engage meaningfully with young people.
• Complete assessments and co-create action plans with input from young people.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and report concerns promptly.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in local practice.
