Job summary

Footprints in Canterbury is seeking a Care & Support Worker to provide a high level of personal and emotional care to young people with disabilities. You will support independence, plan activities, and assist with trips and daily home operations.

Shift patterns include a mix of early, late, long day and night hours on a rota basis at the rural Stodmarsh location. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Hold Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or be willing to attain this qualification.
• Be able to communicate clearly with young people and adapt to their individual requirements.
• Be committed to delivering high-quality care and supporting independence and enjoyment for service users.
• Have the motivation to use your own initiative and develop activities for service users.
• Be able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing with people inside and outside the Foundation.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly with young people to meet their individual needs.
• Support personal and emotional care and promote independence.
• Arrange and participate in activities, trips and outings for service users.
• Help run the home and maintain health and safety standards.
• Be flexible and able to work without constant supervision when required.
