Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking Teaching Assistants to support pupils across St Helens secondary schools, with roles spanning long-term and fixed-term assignments and ongoing education support to boost learning, confidence and engagement.

Ideal candidates have experience as Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants or SEN specialists, strong communication skills and a patient, proactive approach. Opportunities include mainstream classrooms, learning support and SEN provision.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant.
• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom to access the curriculum.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
• Work with pupils with additional learning needs.
• Support pupils with SEND, including learning, communication and behavioural needs.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and engagement.
• Work alongside teachers to reinforce learning.
• Support pupils with classroom activities and differentiated work.
• Encourage positive behaviour and maintain high expectations.
• Provide pastoral and emotional support where appropriate.
