Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant for a thriving Leyland secondary school. The role is a temporary/full-time position with a starting date in November 2026 or sooner, offering the chance to make a real impact on students' progress and wellbeing.

Responsibilities include supporting lessons, delivering small group interventions, assisting teachers, and fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment while developing professionally within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patience, adaptability and a positive approach.

Responsibilities

• Support students in lessons across a range of subjects.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions, including SEN support.
• Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and activities.
• Encourage student confidence, independence and achievement.
• Support behaviour management and student wellbeing throughout the day.
