Job summary

Lift Rawlett is a caring secondary school in Tamworth where we support students to access the curriculum, develop independence and build confidence. As a Teaching Assistant you will work with teachers to improve learning, support SEND and help every student reach their potential in a positive, inclusive environment.

You will contribute to planning and delivering high-quality learning, supporting students both in class and in targeted interventions, and helping pupils grow socially, emotionally

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above, or willing to work towards
• Willing to work towards Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent; relevant experience acceptable
• Experience supporting students including SEND is desirable

Responsibilities

• Supporting students in accessing lesson content and achieving their learning objectives.
• Helping students develop independent learning skills and confidence in managing their own learning.
• Working alongside teachers to support the planning and delivery of high-quality learning.
• Delivering individual and small-group interventions under the direction of teaching staff.
• Supporting students with SEND and adapting support to meet individual needs.
• Promoting positive behaviour and consistently supporting the school's expectations and policies.
• Supporting students' social, emotional and mental health, wellbeing and personal development.
• Monitoring students' progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Collaborating with teachers, pastoral colleagues, the SENDCO and parents/carers.
• Helping to create a stimulating, inclusive and safe learning environment.
• Supporting the preparation of resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Supporting students on trips and other activities outside of school where required.
