Job summary

Abbeyfield School in England is inviting applications for the SENDCo role within the dedicated SEND team. You will lead inclusion strategies, oversee support for students with additional needs, and collaborate with families and staff to remove barriers to learning.

Qualifications

Experience of working with children or a willingness to undertake training to develop the skills and knowledge needed to support their learning and development effectively.
Ability to manage difficult and emotive situations with sensitivity, professionalism and a calm approach.
Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality, handling sensitive information with discretion and integrity at all times.
Demonstrates caring, patience, energy, motivation, commitment and empathy, enabling positive relationships and meaningful support for students.

Responsibilities

SENDCo role within Abbeyfield School, leading inclusion strategies and coordinating support for students with additional needs.
Collaborating with families, teachers and external professionals to remove barriers to learning.
Providing guidance and coaching to staff on safeguarding, inclusion and behaviour approaches.
Contributing to a positive, supportive school culture that prioritises student wellbeing and achievement.
