Job summary

Gloucestershire College in Gloucester is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the First Steps program to support learners, develop skills, and help students build confidence, independence and employability within a positive, inclusive learning environment.

You will assist with learning activities, educational visits, and maintain accurate student records, with personal care support where required; GCSEs and IT skills required; safeguarding training encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people in education, training, or a similar setting.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
• Understanding of safeguarding, or willingness to complete training.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Working closely with teaching staff, you will support learners to take part in lessons, develop their skills, and achieve their goals.
• You will provide tailored support to help students build confidence, independence, and employability skills, while contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• The role also involves supporting learning activities, educational visits, and maintaining accurate student records, as well as providing personal care where required.
