Job summary

Burwell Village College (Primary) is seeking a staff member to support individual pupils and small groups within planned lessons. You will work with teachers to adapt activities, reinforce English and maths skills, and promote positive behaviour in line with school policies.

Responsibilities include assisting with learning activities, recording pupil progress, and providing basic welfare support. You may participate in planning with teaching staff and help with displays and visits.

Qualifications

• Establish positive relationships with pupils supported.
• Support pupils with activities which support English and maths skills
• Promote positive pupil behaviour in line with school policies and help keep pupils on task
• Participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities with the teacher
• Attend to pupils’ personal needs including minor first aid.
• Assist with the display and presentation of pupils’ work
• Escort pupils on educational visits.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with other staff and provide information about pupils as appropriate
• Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour
• Support learning by arranging resources for lessons under the direction of the teacher
• Help maintain stocks of materials and resources used in lessons
