Job summary

Certitude is hiring a Support Worker to help people in their homes and communities live the lives they want. You will build relationships, support daily tasks with choice and participation, and create opportunities for learning and engagement.

The role focuses on person-centred support, confidence-building, and enabling independence, with training provided. A DBS check and references are required as part of the application.

Qualifications

• The ability to motivate others and build their confidence to try new things, meet new people, and support others to get things achieved.
• A good understanding of accountability, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
• An understanding of the challenges that are likely to be faced by people with mental health or learning disability related issues.
• Good IT skills.
• A driving licence (preferably).
• Work or personal experience in supporting people with mental health or learning disability needs.

Responsibilities

• Building great relationships with people we support and the people important to their lives.
• Promoting choice and participation when supporting people with daily tasks.
• Co-creating opportunities for people to try new things and offering information to support people to make their own choices.
• Offering personalised support by working with people's strengths to build their confidence and overcome obstacles with the aim of achieving their goals.
• Encouraging people to participate in activities that bring them joy and meaning.
