Job summary

Certitude is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help people in their homes and communities live the lives they choose. You will build relationships, promote participation, and tailor support to individual strengths and goals while encouraging engagement in meaningful activities.

You will work with individuals who may face mental health needs or learning disabilities, and you may be required to drive a 7-seater van. Training and ongoing coaching are provided to support career development.

Qualifications

• Can support people who may challenge (verbally, physically), particularly people on the autistic spectrum.
• Can keep calm and confident in challenging situations.
• Have knowledge/experience of supporting people with mental health needs, learning disabilities, and profound learning disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Building great relationships with people we support and the people important to their lives.
• Promoting choice and participation in daily tasks.
• Co-creating opportunities for people to try new things and offering information to support people to make their own choices.
• Offering personalised support by working with people’s strengths to build their confidence and overcome obstacles.
