Job summary

Hft is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to empower learning-disabled adults to live life their way. You will encourage independence, support activities, and promote health and wellbeing within a warm, inclusive team.

The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, waking and sleep-in shifts, with DBS checks part of the onboarding process. No prior care experience is essential, just the right attitude and values.

Qualifications

• Patience, supportiveness and respect for people’s choices are essential.
• Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships.
• Willingness to learn and work towards a Health and Social Care qualification.

Responsibilities

• Empower independence and choice for people supported.
• Encourage participation in social, leisure, work, and community activities.
• Promote health, safety and wellbeing while respecting decisions.
• Support attendance at health appointments and manage medication where needed.
• Build skills and self-belief through daily life support.
• Assist with personal care when required.
• Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.
