Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is seeking a caring and resilient Learning Support Assistant for a complex needs setting in Gateshead. Start date is September 2026, with hours from 8:30am–3:30pm or 4:30pm, and a daily pay of £98–£120.

This full-time, term-time role offers the chance to support pupils with diverse needs while building strong relationships and promoting safe, confident learning. Experience in SEND, education, care, nursing, youth work or support work would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience within SEND, education, care, nursing or youth work would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to pupils with complex needs.
• Support learning in small groups and tailor activities to individual plans.
• Encourage communication and develop pupil independence.
• Support transitions, routines and positive behaviour.
• Record and communicate pupil progress to the team.
