Job summary

Vision for Education are recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join Purfleet Primary School in Purfleet, part of the REAch2 Academy Trust.

You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and the wider school team to provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs. You will help create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, particularly with SEN or additional needs.
• Calm, nurturing and positive approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Patience, empathy and a good sense of humour.
• Willingness to work as part of a supportive school team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
• Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
• Helping children develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
• Implementing individual learning and support plans under the guidance of teaching staff.
• Supporting pupils with their emotional and behavioural development.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and parents/carers where appropriate.
• Promoting a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Encouraging pupils to develop independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
