Job summary

Educo Recruitment in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils across a range of primary schools. You will assist children with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and develop independence.

You will work closely with class teachers and SEN staff to create an inclusive learning environment, supporting wellbeing and development while promoting engagement and positive relationships with families.

Qualifications

• Previous UK-based experience supporting children with special educational needs is essential.
• A caring, patient and adaptable approach.
• A commitment to supporting pupils' learning, wellbeing and development.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
• Confidence in adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
• Work alongside teachers and support staff to deliver tailored learning activities.
• Support individual learning and behaviour plans.
• Encourage pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
• Help maintain a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
• Promote independence, confidence and engagement with learning.
• Adapt activities to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
