Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an experienced SEN English Teacher for a full-time post in Epping. You will join an intimate SEN school team and deliver accessible English lessons to pupils aged 11–18, tailoring content to individual needs.

The role requires QTS, PGCE, and strong classroom management with a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. An enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• PGCE or equivalent training.
• Experience in SEN education (Secondary preferred).
• Strong classroom management.
• Patient, resilient, adaptable approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, comfortable and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress.
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behavior management across the classroom.
