Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced English Teacher with SEN and SEMH expertise to join a specialist SEN school in Epping. You will deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to complex needs and support pupils aged 11-18 to progress and build confidence.

You'll work within a multidisciplinary team, manage behavior effectively and contribute to pupil progress reports. QTS and PGCE or equivalent are essential, with DBS required or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• QTS is required.
• PGCE or equivalent training is required.
• Experience in SEN education (Secondary preferred).
• Strong classroom management skills are essential.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, supportive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress.
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behavior management across the classroom.
