Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant for a secondary setting in South Sheffield. You will support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, building strong relationships in small groups and 1:1 settings.

The role requires resilience, safeguarding awareness, and the ability to work as part of a proactive school team. A DBS check and commitment to equality and safeguarding are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH students is essential.
• Proven ability to build relationships with pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Understanding safeguarding guidelines and child protection policies.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and safe teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Support SEMH pupils in class, groups and 1:1 sessions.
• Build positive relationships to enable learning.
• Assist with managing behaviour and emotional needs.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
