Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in Bideford, North Devon, to join a residential childcare setting. You will build trusting relationships, support education and daily living activities, and help ensure a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people.

The role requires an NVQ Level 3 in CYP or equivalent, prior residential childcare experience, an Enhanced DBS check, and a full UK driving licence. Salary is competitive with regular pay reviews.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent.
• Experience in residential childcare or similar environment.
• Enhanced DBS check mandatory and Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong communication, patience and compassionate approach.

Responsibilities

• Establish positive trusted relationships with children to support wellbeing.
• Assist with education, vocational interests, and social networks.
• Provide consistent boundaries and behaviour management, supervise online activity.
• Help with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, laundry, and safety.
