Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a patient, resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a primary school in Druids Heath, starting ASAP. You will support pupils across Early Years to Year 6 who need help regulating their emotions and behaviour to re-engage with learning.

The role requires a calm, nurturing approach, strong communication and experience managing challenging behaviour. De-escalation skills are desirable, and you’ll work closely with staff to maintain a safe, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting challenging behaviour/dysregulation in a primary setting.
• Patient, calm and resilient approach.
• Experience working with children from EYFS to Year 6.
• Confidence in managing situations where children may become aggressive.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Understanding of positive behaviour management and de-escalation.
• Ability to remain calm and consistent in difficult situations.
• De-escalation or restraint training is desirable, but not essential.
• A nurturing approach and ability to build positive pupil relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils who may need to leave the classroom, or are experiencing a melt-down or dysregulated, helping them to calm and return to learning.
• Work with children across Early Years through Year 6 with varying ages and needs.
• Contribute to a positive behaviour management approach and safe learning environment.
