Job summary

East Kent Mencap is recruiting a Housing Support Worker for Thanet and Herne Bay houses. The role offers 37 hours per week with an hourly rate of £12.71 and a sleep-in rate of £70.47.

Training and development are provided, with a focus on person-centred care for individuals with learning disabilities. You’ll tailor training to the role, work towards a Level 2 in Health and Social Care, and may travel to Canterbury as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
• Willingness to work sleep-in shifts if required.
• Ability to work towards a Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible.
• Promote social inclusion by helping access community activities.
• Assist with medication under organisational procedures.
• Build trusting relationships and support personal goals.
• Promote equality, diversity and safeguarding.
• Report safeguarding concerns and maintain safe environments.
• Maintain health and safety awareness and report risks.
• Collaborate with families and healthcare professionals for coordinated support.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and plans.
