Job summary

MPA Healthcare are recruiting Day Care Support Workers in the Southern trust area for our clients. The role involves working with adults with learning, physical and sensory disabilities in day services or the wider community.

You will follow individual care plans, support daily activities, promote independence and report health changes. The posts are 30 hours per week, Monday–Friday 9:00–15:30 on a rota, temporary to 23 December 2026.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (NVQ/QCF/VRQ/RQF).
• Or have four GCSEs at grades A–C including English Language plus at least one year of paid direct care experience.
• Or have at least two years of paid direct care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to adults with learning, physical and sensory disabilities.
• Follow individual care plans and support each person’s needs.
• Help with personal care, meals and daily activities.
• Plan and support activities in the day centre and community.
• Promote independence, dignity, choice and inclusion.
• Support individuals with complex health and behavioural needs.
• Assist with the safe transport of service users to and from the day centre.
• Help with medication in line with Trust policies and procedures.
• Report concerns or changes in health or wellbeing.
• Work with colleagues, families and other professionals.
• Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment.
• Follow health and safety, safeguarding and confidentiality procedures.
• Keep accurate records and report risks or incidents.
• Attend required training, meetings and supervision.
• Carry out other duties as required by the manager.

Education

Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (NVQ/QCF/VRQ/RQF)

GCSEs including English Language

Paid direct care experience (1 year+)
