Job summary

YourRecruit is seeking a Residential Support Worker to join a children’s residential home in Bognor Regis, providing practical, emotional and social support to young people in a safe, nurturing environment. You will work 40 hours per week on shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins where required, supporting education, activities and daily routines while safeguarding and promoting welfare.

A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards one is required;

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards one.
• Experience supporting children and young people is desirable.
• Experience with emotional/behavioural needs or behaviours that challenge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality residential care and support.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
• Build positive, trusting relationships.
• Support education, appointments, activities and life skills.
• Promote positive behaviour and independence.
• Support daily routines, meals and household tasks.
• Complete care records, reports and handovers.
• Act as a Key Worker for allocated young people.
• Work with families, social workers and other professionals.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and care plans.
