Job summary

YourRecruit is looking for a compassionate Residential Support Worker to join a children’s residential home in Ascot/Virginia Water. You will provide daily care, emotional support and help promote safeguarding and independence for the children.

You will work 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins, and you will be part of a supportive team focused on safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes for children in care.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in residential childcare or similar care setting.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and care planning.
• Strong communication, teamwork and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, personal care and emotional support within a nurturing residential environment.
• Build positive relationships to promote confidence, resilience and independence.
• Implement care plans, behaviour support plans and risk assessments to meet needs.
• Maintain safeguarding standards in line with regulations and quality standards.
• Support children with complex needs and challenging behaviour using appropriate techniques.
• Encourage education, social development and participation in activities.
• Promote independent living skills including cooking, budgeting and hygiene.
• Administer medication and provide first aid when required.
• Maintain accurate care records and safeguarding documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues and professionals to promote welfare.
