Job summary

Southwark Council is seeking a dedicated Personal Advisor to support and empower looked after children and care leavers. You will work closely with young people to enable successful transitions to adulthood through practical, planned interventions and a statutory role within Children’s Services.

As a Personal Advisor you will befriend, advise and assist care leavers (18-25) to achieve their Pathway Plans, collaborate with multidisciplinary networks, and contribute to improving education,

Qualifications

• Commitment to improving outcomes for looked after children and care leavers
• Ability to work with young people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to plan and deliver practical, well-planned interventions

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with young people to support transitions to adulthood
• Befriend, advise and assist care leavers to meet goals
• Work within multidisciplinary networks across statutory and non-profit sectors
• Contribute to safeguarding and residential planning for looked after children
