Job summary

Northumberland College seeks a Skills Development Coach to support learners' personal, social and professional development through the Global Skills programme. You will help learners build resilience, work readiness, digital and transferable skills for progression into employment or further study.

You will deliver individual and group coaching, set targets, monitor progress and help learners achieve ambitious outcomes within our Northumberland campuses.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people in group situations.
• Effective written communication.
• Effective oral communication with colleagues and students.
• Ability to work with a range of students and their complex needs.
• Ability to lead and work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver group skill sessions in classroom or workshops.
• Support students with academic or skills-focused interventions.
• Support students in improving digital skills relevant to their curriculum.
• Create and monitor action plans with targets and reviews.
• Attend recruitment and induction events to support targets.
• Maintain industry currency through industry days and visits.
• Contribute to curriculum team and cross-college development.
• Provide mentoring and motivation to help learners reach their potential.
