Job summary

Tameside College in Greater Manchester is seeking a Learning Support Specialist - Literacy & Numeracy to assist learners with SEND and deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions across FE settings.

Role involves supporting English and maths, promoting functional skills and independence, with DBS checks and safeguarding commitments in place. Temporary/term-time contracts with flexible hours and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with SEND in an educational setting.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to adapt learning strategies to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support in English, maths, literacy, and numeracy.
• Deliver targeted interventions to improve reading, writing and numeracy.
• Support learners in developing Functional Skills and employability skills.
• Adapt materials and strategies to meet learner needs.
• Collaborate with lecturers, SEND teams and support staff.
