Job summary

Government of The United Kingdom is seeking an Employment Support Mentor to assist individuals facing multiple and complex barriers to securing and sustaining work. You will mentor participants one-to-one, tailor support plans, and help develop CVs, interview skills, and job search strategies.

The role emphasizes safeguarding wellbeing, tracking progress, and working in a hybrid environment to support flexible hours and varied caseloads.

Qualifications

• Experience in mentoring or related supportive roles.
• Ability to create tailored support plans based on individual needs.
• Experience helping clients overcome barriers to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one mentoring and tailored support plans.
• Identify barriers to employment and implement practical strategies to overcome them.
• Help participants develop employability skills, including CV writing, interview prep, and job search.
• Track progress and maintain accurate records in line with programme requirements.
• Motivate and inspire individuals to build confidence, resilience, and independence.
• Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all participants.

We are looking for a passionate and resilient Employment Support Mentor to join our team, supporting individuals who face multiple and complex barriers to gaining and sustaining employment. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with participants who may be experiencing challenges such as long-term unemployment, mental health issues, homelessness, substance misuse, low skills, or involvement with the criminal justice system. Your focus will be to empower individuals, build confidence, and support them to move towards meaningful and sustainable employment. The role will involve

• providing one-to-one mentoring and tailored support plans based on individual needs
• Identify barriers to employment and implement practical strategies to overcome them
• Support participants in developing employability skills, including CV writing, interview preparation, and job search
• Track progress and maintain accurate records in line with programme requirements
• Motivate and inspire individuals to build confidence, resilience, and independence
• Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all participants
