Job summary

Richard Nelson LLP is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor or Paralegal to join the Employment Law Team on a hybrid basis, with options for Nottingham or remote work. You will handle a diverse caseload, advise employees, draft documents, and provide practical guidance to clients navigating workplace issues.

The role reports to the Partner (Employment) and requires a strong track record in Employment law, excellent client care, and independent working capability within a specialist team.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Employment Solicitor or Paralegal to join our growing employment law team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse caseload. This role focuses on advising employees, which offers the opportunity to make a real difference to clients facing workplace difficulties, representing them through challenging situations and fighting for their rights. As part of our Team, you will provide specialist legal support to clients navigating these complexities, ensuring they receive expert guidance tailored to their individual circumstances.

Key Responsibilities -

• Manage a varied caseload of employment matters from inception to conclusion
• Draft legal documents, policies, and correspondence
• Conduct legal research and provide commercially sound advice
• Conduct cases effectively and efficiently on behalf of clients in accordance with the Firm's policies and objectives
• Ensure all work is carried out to the highest professional standards
• Maintain efficient and cost-effective work practices
• Utilise time recording systems and IT effectively
• Act for clients across the full spectrum of Employment Law matters, including:
• Disputes & Grievances
• Settlement Agreements
• Representing a broad range of clients including Teachers, Doctors, Nurses and other professionals in regulated sectors
• Advisory
• Tribunal Advocacy
• Client Representation
• *Some Training can be provided

Professional Development

• Pro-actively contribute to the development and promotion of the Firm's high standards and reputation
• Participate in business development and promotion of the Firm's Employment
• law services
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Employment Law and relevant Regulatory changes
• Work collaboratively with the Employment Law Team and other colleagues
• Liaise with Partners on specific Firm-wide matters as required
• Contribute to the team's collective expertise and knowledge sharing collaboration

Essential Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified Solicitor with current practicing certificate – 5 years PQE minimum or experienced paralegal
• Proven experience of acting for employees in Employment law cases
• Demonstrable track record of successful case outcomes
• Excellent negotiating experience and skills
• Outstanding oral and written communication abilities
• Strong client care and relationship management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a specialist team
• Efficient time management and organisational skills
• Thorough understanding of the obligations of working as a Solicitor or Paralegal, including ethical obligations
• Knowledge and proficient use of case management systems and IT
• Commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients
• Passionate about Employment law and client advocacy
• Approachable manner with ability to explain complex legal matters clearly
• Tenacious and determined approach to casework
• High standards of integrity and professionalism
