Reed in Newcastle is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join its busy Employment department. The role focuses on employer-related work and offers a supportive environment, professional development, and opportunities to engage with clients and seminars.

You will manage your own caseload, draft documents, defend tribunal claims, and contribute to business development while aligning with the firm’s values of client service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 4 years+ PQE or equivalent experience in employment law.
• Highly organised with ability to multitask and work independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience managing a caseload and supporting complex files.

Responsabilités

• Provide advice on employment law and HR-related matters.
• Manage own caseload and support Head of Department on complex files.
• Draft and amend contracts, handbooks and internal policies.
• Support corporate matters, including due diligence and TUPE.
• Defend tribunal claims and negotiate settlements.
• Contribute to bulletins, articles, and client seminars.
• Attend meetings discussing fixed-price employment product.

We are seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join our client, an established Newcastle based Legal firm. The role sits within their busy Employment department, focusing predominantly on employer-related work. This is an opportunity to be part of a firm that values teamwork, excellent client service, professionalism, and the development of its people.

Day to Day of the role:

• Provide advice and guidance to clients on all aspects of employment law and HR-related matters.
• Manage your own caseload while supporting the Head of Department with complex files.
• Draft and amend documentation including contracts, service agreements, employee handbooks, and internal policies.
• Offer corporate support on employment matters arising from transactional work, including due diligence and TUPE.
• Defend claims before the Employment Tribunal, including preparation of evidence and negotiation of settlements.
• Contribute to monthly bulletins, press articles, and prepare and speak at client-focused seminars and other business development initiatives.
• Attend meetings with prospective clients to discuss our fixed price employment product.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 4 years + PQE but open to candidates at all levels of experience.
• Highly organised with the ability to multitask and work independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable dealing with a diverse and busy workload.
• Experience in managing a caseload and supporting complex legal files.
