Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employment Solicitor (5–7 PQE) to join the highly regarded Employment team at a leading independent commercial law firm based in the heart of Manchester.

The firm is well known for advising entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses, corporates and high-net-worth individuals, providing commercially focused legal services across a full range of practice areas. Its Employment team is recognised in Legal 500 for delivering pragmatic, strategic advice across both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

Due to continued growth and success, the firm is looking to recruit an experienced employment lawyer to join its expanding and well-respected team.

Key Responsibilities

You will work on a varied and high-quality caseload including:

Employment Tribunal litigation (including whistleblowing, discrimination and unfair dismissal claims)
Senior executive appointments and exits
Restrictive covenants and confidential information disputes
Restructures, redundancies and TUPE matters
Settlement agreements and advisory work for HR teams and senior leadership

You will also have the opportunity to build strong client relationships, mentor junior colleagues and contribute to business development, supported by a dedicated marketing team.

What We’re Looking For

5–7 years’ PQE in employment law
Experience managing your own employment caseload across contentious and non-contentious matters
Strong drafting and advisory skills
Employment Tribunal experience (advocacy experience advantageous but not essential)
Confidence supervising junior colleagues and delegating effectively
Strong commercial awareness and an interest in developing client relationships
