Job summary

Sellick Partnership is seeking an Employment Partner to join its specialist Employment team in Liverpool. You will manage a sophisticated portfolio, lead a team of junior lawyers, and drive growth through strong client and referrer relationships.

The role requires extensive Employment Law experience, a track record with employers or senior employees, and a commercially minded, business development focus. Suitable for partners or senior lawyers ready for the next step.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Employment Law.
• Strong track record advising employers and/or senior employees.
• Technically confident across contentious and non-contentious Employment matters.
• Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
• Commercially minded with a strong business development focus.
• Confident building long-term client and professional relationships.
• Operating at Partner level or ready for the next step as Legal Director/Senior Associate.

Responsibilities

• Manage a sophisticated portfolio of Employment work.
• Build strong relationships with clients and referrers.
• Mentor and develop junior lawyers within the team.
• Lead business development and contribute to growth of the Liverpool office.
• Oversee settlement agreements, grievances, and TUPE matters.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Employment Partner to join a highly regarded and specialist Employment team in Liverpool.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Employment lawyer to take a leading role within a high-quality team, advising a diverse client base while helping to grow the practice and develop junior talent.

The Opportunity

You’ll manage a sophisticated portfolio of Employment work while building strong relationships with clients and professional referrers.

Your workload is likely to include:

• Employment Tribunal claims
• Complex and high-value employment disputes
• Senior executive matters
• Settlement agreements
• Disciplinary and grievance matters
• Redundancy and restructuring
• TUPE
• Employment contracts and policies
• Managing your own portfolio of clients
• Supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers
• Building and maintaining strong client and referrer relationships
• Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the Manchester office

About You

• Extensive experience in Employment Law
• Strong track record advising both employers and/or senior employees
• Technically confident across contentious and non-contentious Employment matters
• Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
• Commercially minded with a strong business development focus
• Confident building long-term client and professional relationships
• Excellent communication skills and sound judgement
• Already operating at Partner level, or a Legal Director/Senior Associate ready for the next step
