Ellisons, a regional law firm in Chelmsford, seeks an enthusiastic Employment Lawyer (0-3 PQE) to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will advise employers and employees on a broad range of workplace matters and develop your career in a supportive environment.

No two days will be the same as you handle contracts, policies, investigations and settlement agreements while building client relationships and learning from experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with 0–3 PQE in employment law.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Curious, proactive and keen to learn, with confidence to build relationships.

Responsabilités

• Advise employers and employees on a wide range of workplace matters with practical guidance.
• Support disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence matters.
• Advise on dismissals, redundancies, restructures and settlement agreements.
• Assist with employment tribunal claims, including unfair dismissal and discrimination.
• Draft contracts, staff handbooks and other employment documentation.
• Build client relationships and work collaboratively across the firm.

About the role

No two days will be the same. You'll advise employers and employees on a wide range of workplace matters, providing clear, practical advice while building your confidence and taking increasing ownership of your work.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Advising on employment contracts, policies and workplace issues
• Supporting disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence matters
• Advising on dismissals, redundancies, restructures and settlement agreements
• Assisting with employment tribunal claims, including unfair dismissal and discrimination
• Drafting contracts, staff handbooks and other employment documentation
• Building client relationships and working collaboratively across the firm

About you

You'll be a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with 0-3 years' PQE in employment law, or relevant experience demonstrating your readiness for the role. Around 1-2 years' experience would be ideal, although newly qualified solicitors are welcome.

You'll have excellent communication and organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and a practical, solutions-focused approach.

Most importantly, you're curious, proactive and keen to learn, with the confidence to build relationships and the ambition to develop your career.
