Job summary

Service Care Solutions is recruiting an experienced Employment Lawyer to join Stockport Council’s Legal Services on a permanent basis. The role offers a hybrid Manchester location and a salary range of MB3 £51,356 – £58,165 per year with benefits pending.

You will manage your own caseload, provide expert advice on a broad spectrum of employment matters, and work closely with senior leaders to shape strategy and policy across the council’s employment portfolio.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' PQE in employment law.
• Current practising certificate qualifying you to practise in England as a Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX.
• Strong advocacy and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist legal advice on a wide range of employment matters.
• Manage your own caseload with minimal supervision.
• Advise senior leaders and managers on employment-related issues.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employment law professional to join a supportive and collaborative local authority legal team, providing high-quality legal and strategic advice across a broad range of employment matters.

Job Title: Employment Lawyer Salary: MB3 £51,356 – £58,165 per annum, plus additional benefits and pay award pending Contract: Permanent Location: Manchester/Hybrid

You will work as part of a friendly and collaborative team of ten colleagues, within a supportive environment where professional development is encouraged and valued. The successful Employment Lawyer will be confident managing their own caseload and will act as a key point of contact for employment-related legal advice across the Council. The role will involve working closely with senior leaders and colleagues at all levels, providing expert legal and strategic advice across both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
